Upcoming Mobile App Update Notice

Published September 12, 2025 by Angela Talbot

To ensure you have the best and most secure mobile banking experience, we will soon release a required update for the Webster First mobile app. This update includes important technical improvements, bug fixes to keep your information safe, and a slightly new, more modern look for the login screen.

What this update means for you

For the majority of our members, this will be a routine update. Once it is released, you will be prompted to update the app before you can continue using it. We regularly release updates like this to improve performance and security.

This new version of the app will require a more recent operating system on your mobile device. This change ensures that we can continue to provide the latest security features that protect your account.

The app will no longer be supported on the following operating systems:

  • Apple (iOS) versions older than 16.x
  • Android versions older than 12

How to check your device’s operating system

Most modern smartphones automatically update their operating systems, so this change will likely not affect you. If you are unsure which version your phone is running, here is how you can check:

For iPhone users:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap General, then tap About.
  3. Your iOS version number will be listed next to “Software Version.”

For Android users:

  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Tap About Phone or About Device.
  3. Tap Software Information to see your Android version.

If your device is running on an older operating system, you may need to update it to continue using our mobile app. All devices running older operating systems not supported by Apple or Google will no longer be compatible with the Webster First mobile banking app. Those affected will need to update their phone to a model supporting the new operating systems or use the desktop online banking experience.
