Remote Deposit

Cross an errand off your list without ever leaving home. Remote Deposit allows you to deposit your checks into a personal or business checking account by taking a photo of them with your mobile device or scanning them using a desktop scanner and your personal computer. You'll receive prompt email notification on the status of your deposit, and you can conveniently monitor all account activity through Online Banking.

With Remote Deposit, you'll receive a same business day credit to your checking account (subject to a daily cut-off time) and funds from items deposited will be available to you pursuant to our Funds Availability Policy. Getting Started with Remote Deposit

The use of Remote Deposit is subject to approval. To use Remote Deposit, you must be an active Online Banking user and in good standing with Webster First. Click here to learn more about Online Banking and to sign up today. To get started with Remote Deposit, follow the steps below:

  • Click here for Remote Deposit Terms & Conditions.
  • Sign in to Online Banking and click on the "Remote Deposit" link.
  • You will be directed to read the Terms & Conditions of the program. You will need to read and accept these terms to use Remote Deposit.
  • Your request to use Remote Deposit will be submitted for review. Upon acceptance, you will be able to use Remote Deposit.

 

Remote Deposit for Personal Computers

To use Remote Deposit for personal computers, follow the steps below:

  • Sign in to Online Banking from your personal computer and click the "Remote Deposit" link.
  • Select which checking account you would like to deposit your check into.
  • You will be directed to a new page where you will need to complete an online deposit form.
  • You will be directed to sign and scan your check.
  • Once your deposit is reviewed and accepted, you will receive credit of the funds to your account pursuant to our Funds Availability Policy.
  • System Requirements:
    • High Speed Internet (Cable or DSL)
    • TWAIN compliant document scanner (TWAIN drivers are designed specifically for your scanner and may need to be downloaded from the manufacturer's website)
    • And one of the following:
      • Internet Explorer 8 with Windows 7+
      • Firefox 32 with Windows 7+
      • Mac OS X 10.6 with Safari 6+* or Firefox 32

 

Remote Deposit for Mobile Devices

To use Remote Deposit with a mobile device, follow the steps below:

  • You must have downloaded the Webster First App. Click here to learn more about our app.
  • Sign in to the Webster First App and click the "Deposit Checks" link.
  • Click on the "Get Started" link.
  • Select the checking account you would like to deposit your check into.
  • Enter the deposit amount.
  • Take the proper photos of the check as instructed. Be sure to take these photos in a well-lit area so the check can be properly read.
  • Once your deposit is reviewed and accepted, you will receive credit of the funds to your account pursuant to our Funds Availability Policy.
